TIME UPDATE

Weather: It's a fine, clear day, but cold. The are very few clouds and a ground frost in the morning.

Events: Several things will become apparent as people awake today. The following things have changed in town:-

• Firstly, every house that is not currently occupied is boarded up. All doors and windows have been boarded up, making it very easy to see from a glance which houses are occupied and which aren't.

• There's no electricity in town today. Something's happened. Nowhere in town has any electricity of any description*
• Half the town's population seems to have disappeared. Everyone who worked at the town hall has gone. Everyone in a position of authority is gone. All the police officers have disappeared. The crew at the fire department have gone. Some of the most senior staff at the hospital have gone.
• Many of the town's businesses appear to have been abandoned - all businesses not run by player characters appear to have been abandoned, though their doors stand open and they remain fully stocked. Any businesses that players characters work in (but don't run) - they are in the same state. The management/owners have gone, but the business is still there, door standing open.
• All public buildings stand abandoned, in much the same way as the businesses in town are. All public records (for example who people are, where they came from, any communications about what was going on in town) have gone - all filing cabinets in the town hall are curiously empty, all computers wiped.
• Once the power has been restored, people's computers will be restored to working just the way they have been previously, including their limited internet access.

Also, there is a box left on Bethany's back doorstep. It is a large, plain cardboard box. Inside there are a large number of small pots of acrylic paints in a veritable rainbow of colours, several pots of glitter, a lot of feathers, beads and other accoutrements. There is also a small white card, which simply reads 'Part One'

*There is a substation on the north side of town by the farm. Anyone who knows what they're doing with electrics could probably fix the town's electricity problem, but someone's got to do it.
