When: Morning

Hannah woke up surprisingly refreshed - no annoying reset, no creepy noises in her room, the bed was comfortable and no one was bothering her. This isolation thing had some (short term, at least) benefits. She lounged around and cuddled with Anubis for a few moments, enjoying the feeling, then got up to go to the bathroom and perhaps some breakfast after. Or at least, she would have done those things if she hadn't hit a closed door where a closed door should not have been.

PMs to Kaori, Shane, Camber, and Glitch

Addison rubbed her temples. Occasionally, very occasionally, she wished her grandmother drank. Not that she would've been able to get to the bloody kitchen to get the booze, but sometimes she just really wanted that alcohol. Especially after the message on the central computer. 'Armless Adele Smithe'. What the hell, scientists. What the hell. Was it 'Talk Like a Pirate Day' out in the real world? Or someone just watched Pirates of the Caribbean too many times? Or maybe someone pulled this little test out of a goddamn hat because it sure as hell felt that random.

What the hell? [PM's to Stan, Tobias, Esme and Adam]

Feeling:
confused

Who: Salem and open to Stan, Tobias, Esme and Adam
When: Shortly after she wakes up
Where: Where else?

Upon waking with a growling stomach, it didn't take long for Salem to realize that she couldn't get to the area where the food had been the day before. It was there still, but she couldn't access it. Immediately she started to panic. She tried the other door in the room, the one for the bathroom facilities and that one too she couldn't get to. For a while she continued to try the door, but to no avail. And then she noticed the pad on the wall. A code. She'd need a code... but where the hell would she find a code?

The computers.

Checking them all, she found a message to her, she thought, though it referred to her by another name and gave her another odd name and a number. Immediately she tried the number, but nothing happened.

Was everyone else going through this as well? She wasn't sure, but at least she could find out if four people were. She typed out the same message to the four people she could access.

Please tell me I'm not the only one with a cryptic message, locked kitchen and bathroom areas and a code panel...?

She sent them off to Stan, Esme, Adam and Tobias and waited for a response. Maybe she'd get lucky and figure out that code before she had to go to the bathroom. Maybe.

Off Putting

Who: Leo and open to Janie, Joy, Lilith and Dale
Where: His room/PMs
When: First thing

Leo woke early, sunlight filtering through the gaps in the frond roof above his head. He arched, off-balancing in his hammock a little, before he steadied himself, easing a crick out of his back. Hammocks were not the most comfortable things to sleep in after a while. Or, at least, this one wasn't. He half lifted himself-half fell out of the thing, landing on the floor of the hut, reaching for his shorts.

The first thing he noticed was that the chocolate bar he'd kept in his back pocket was gone. That had him on the floor, hunting for it. And then he looked under his pillow - in the hammock, anywhere there might be stashed food. He always had stashed food. But, not today. He headed out to the bar - that had been where the 'kitchen' had been, if there really was one here. There'd been a fridge with some food, a barbecue, it was enough. Only today, the bar had changed - there were shutters between the bar and its roof, and a door instead of the gap to the other side. And the door was locked, a push-button keypad seemingly there to unlock it. Leo tried typing in his pin number. No joy - how would the scientists have known that anyway? He tried a few other codes, but no joy. He noticed that the computer which had yesterday sat on the bar was now on a small stand next to it.

TIME UPDATE

Date: Saturday, October 12th 2008

Weather: Who knows? Who cares!

Events: The set up from yesterday remains the same. Everyone in their own 'space', set out how they want. Computers to north, south, east and west which only connect to one other person. Another computer centrally which can only create private journal entries. (Note: all computers can do things like play music etc).

For player reference, the computers set as follows:-

Stan Scott Jesse Sophie
Jack Kaori Brianna Owen Svetlana
Shane Addison Camber Brett Hannah Will
Jillian Glitch Everett Eris Joy Saj
Posy Adam Cheyenne Dale Leo Lilith
Esme Salem Tobias Ronnie Janie Indira

If your character is on an edge, their computer connects to the person on the opposite side (So, for example, Sophie connects to Stan).

All broken furniture, walls, equipment etc have been repaired overnight. Oh, and Joy's computer equipment has been modified so it is now unbreakable. In fact, if she attempts to destroy it, it will make 'tut tut tut' noises at her for the next five minutes.

However, there is something different today. However a person's area is set out, they no longer have access to food or bathroom facilities. Whether the room was open plan or sectioned off, somehow (up to player discretion) cooking/food and all bathroom facilities can no longer be accessed - but it is clear that these have not actually been removed. What they have been is locked away and however they are locked away it requires an code to access them. Kitchens, bathrooms etc now lurk behind a keypad! There are, of course, almost limitless combinations on a standard numerical keypad and your character is more than free to start trying them!

However, if the central computer is investigated, it will be seen that there is a message there, though it is somewhat cryptic. Each message is different, but yet similar. All the message says is a greeting, a name and then the gift of another name, with a number. That is all.*

(Because we don't particularly fancy typing out every single message, we're giving you the master message and then a reference chart! We're sure you can figure it out!)

The Message

Good morning [character 'ID']. We hope you are well, and you have [Character 'ID name'] [Character 'ID number'] - do with it what you will.

*The number attached to each name is the four-digit combination needed to access food and hygiene facilities in each room. So, for example, Tobias' 'name' for the day is 'Gnaarrgh "Bondage Ninja" the Mostly Rotted'. He knows this. But he doesn't have the number combination for his kitchen and bathroom. Hannah, however, knows that 'Gnaarrgh "Bondage Ninja" the Mostly Rotted' is associated with the number '6881'. She just doesn't know why first thing.

If you have any events or anything going on which you think warrants a mention in the time update, please let us know!

Drinking Games

Feeling:
bored

Who: Camber and any others who want to join in
When: late
Where: That damn room.

Cam was lying on the couch; two hours of restless frustration after talking to Everett had uncovered nothing but that creepy-ass mask, her roommate's hidden stash of cheap Polish vodka, and two layers of skin off her knuckles from trying to take out various surfaces.

Well, her roomie wasn't going to miss the vodka.

PMs to Saj, Posy

To Saj:

Hey dude, Will asked Shane to ask me to drop you a line because you didn't answer him, I guess? What's going on? Did you break out or just crank some music? Either way, I hope you're okay and you get this. And if you broke out and didn't come find us, I'll hunt you down and break your face. (That comes from a place of love and friendship, btw.) And do you know some chick named Indira or have anyone who can get in contact with her? Glitch has someone asking.

To Posy:

Rage

Who: Everett
Where: Precinct 14, Atlanta, Georgia (but not really)
When: later afternoon on to the evening

"Break, you plaster-covered asshole! Break!" he roared as a chair upended to smash the points of two legs into a clear patch of wall. Everett was gripping the back of it tightly, shoulders rolling and chest heaving as the chair rebounded from the wall. The impact ran up the metal frame, jolting his arms painfully as chips of plaster rained free and left two gouges in the wall, focal points between a slight spiderweb of cracks.

private to everett

Everett, I need you to do something. If you do it, you'll never hear a word out of me about what you did to me again. And I know that that promise might not actually be worth much in the way of long term, but I'll hold up my end if I see tomorrow. Besides, it's not for me. It's for Brett. I just need you to message whoever it is that can get in contact with him, every so often, and tell him that I'm checking in, and that I'm fine. That's it. I'm going to sleep. But tell him that I'm checking in. Either I'll wake up, or I won't. But he doesn't need to be worrying about me the whole night. Or waiting, or whatever it is he's going to do. I don't want to leave him without any word but I just...need to go sleep.

I really need you to do this for me. I'm trusting that you will, and you'll leave out the fact that I ever asked. It's important, you know I wouldn't ask otherwise.

So, please. Will you?
