What do people do?

Don't know if this has already been addressed, but now we're on our own, what did people do on the outside? What skills do people have? We should all know this.

 - ..

Well, I used to be a bodyguard, so if you need security or just brute strength, I'm happy to help. I spent yesterday chopping wood, for all the good that did.

 - .

Carpenter and Bartender. Didn't fail miserably at either, or at least I'd hope so.

 - .

I don't really know if I can help much. I was just an office assistant, so unless you need things filed or something, I'm fairly useless.

 - already turned the power back on once here

I'm an electrician.

 - .

I am a psychiatrist. Anyone needing any assistance in that area, I will be happy to see, and if anyone just needs a take on something they're seeing in others, etc, I'm happy to provide that as well.

 - and then everyone laughed and laughed

I'm a tarot card reader. Incidentally, the card for today was Justice. Not a bad card. All about balance and shit. Balance, alignment, realignment, truth, clarity, simplification, order, authenticity, visualization, seeing through deceptions or delusions, and harmony.

So, hooray. We can all see through the lies of the day, and feel evened out or something. Things will shift back to where they're meant to be.

It's a theory.

Other than the tarot thing, I'm adept at preparing for the apocalypse, and apocalyptic theory. I'm good to have on your team in trivial pursuit. Oh, and Scene It. I'm good at that too.

 - .

I'm a doctor of the medical persuasion. I was thinking of having a private practice here before everything went to hell again. Oh well, what can you do?

 - .

Hello Brett. You could've asked me this yesterday, you know.
I am a clinical pathologist. For anyone who doesn't know quite what that entails I perform autopsies on people who die of rare diseases or strange malformations. Anything out of the ordinary.
I don't quite know how many mutated cadavers you have lying around though. So maybe it's not a particularly practical skill. However I know a lot about the human body. So there we have it.

What did you do, Brett?

 - .

Er, I didn't really do anything. I can flog cheap veggies and halal meat if anyone needs that?
I'm always well up for pitching in though, if people don't mind pointing me in the right direction.

 - .

I'm a mechanic with some military training.

 - .

I'm a photography student, which isn't particularly helpful here.

 - .

I'm a doctor, specialist ER

 - .

I'm a carpenter as well, and grew up on a farm. If you need anything, let me know.

 - .

I'm a musician, so... nothing useful unless you're throwing a party, sorry. But I'm willing to work and I learn fast, if that counts for anything.

 - .

Professional snarkotron and general pessimist. Why, what did you do?

 - .

How do I get in on that racket?

 - .

Ask me some more stupid questions.

 - .

Ah but I like stupid questions. They get your panties in a bunch and that's just fucking entertaining.

 - .

Eh, she's lying anyway. It's not professional if you throw your services at everyone you meet.

 - .

Ouch... Snippy today, are we?

 - .

It's important to love what you do.

 - .

Nothing very useful, actually. Uhm. I'm not that good with my hands.

 - .

Late night stock boy for Wal-Mart.

But in general, I'm a fashion designer and I'm pretty damned handy with a needle and thread. I used to do home movies and photography too but I think the sewing might come in more handy.

 - .

... Student. Um, but as far as my skills go, I've got a fair hand at cooking, especially baking, or so I've been told. I, er, sing and play piano... I'm book-smart in paranormal psychology, demonology and a lot of other unsavory things in the world.

 - .

Sort of a jack - jill? - of all trades, but the most useful one would probably be a hand with mechanics. My dad worked as a mechanic for years and I was helping him in the shop before I was legally able to be paid. So I know my way around an engine, and I like putting things together (and taking them apart).

I can also play bass, sing, and potentially give someone a piercing without making their ear fall off, but none of those strike me as particularly USEFUL...

Before I was in the house, I was trying to get my doctorate in Psychology... I have some hours interning at mental facilities and that sort of thing. I don't think I am in the best condition to be diagnosing anyone with anything -- the experiment left me not at my best, you could say -- but if anyone needs someone to talk to, I at least have some experience with that. I'm experienced in abnormal psych and behavioral development, my specialization was to be cognitive behavioral therapy. (Now that seems so far away, the idea of training someone that their fears are incorrect and irrational seems irrational itself with what we have all experienced.)

I'm a good listener, at least, I like to think so.

I'm the middle child in my family and I've worked in restaurants, so I can cook, clean. Take care of children, that sort of thing. I try to keep myself in shape, so if anyone needs help -- really, I am not unwilling to do my share. From what I've seen, I think things must get worse here soon, and we will need each other's help.

Oh -- and, since you can't hear me on the computer -- I speak French as a first language, if a translator's needed.

 - .

I've been a single mom for nearly 10 years, so I can do all sorts of odd jobs.

I especialy like getting rid of household pests tho.

 - new here, just found this

You remember me, I hope. I remember you. I have some organizational skills for things, and am good with a camera. Other than that I'm willing to help out with anything anyone needs help with, and am willing to learn anything.
