Finally

Who: Stan and open!
Where: Roaming the streets in the snow!
When: Late morning

The front door had been new and Stan had taken it straight away. He just hadn't expected it to lead to an elevator. He'd expected it to lead to a street, but this place was freaking him out, so he took whatever way out was presented to him. He'd been surprised when it had led up to a fairly normal house and he'd given it only a cursory look round - enough to find a warm jacket (once he'd taken a look out the window and seen the weather) before heading out. He wanted to ensure that there was an out, and he was used to the snow. It could have been a lot worse, but maybe now he'd get some real answers about this place.

Ev hadn't wasted a moment. He'd slept a bit longer than he normally liked, but it hadn't been long after waking for him to find the elevator. All he'd brought back with him was the last glass' worth of scotch from the bottle he'd had in his desk, nursing it as he studied the elevator and finally let it take him up. And he wasn't surprised when it reopened in his old house. Yes, there was surprise that this space had been buried beneath the house, but it was canceled out by the perception that he'd been returned to square one. THe old house across from Eris, the head full of bad thoughts, it was definitely a drop back to where Ev had been. And he wasn't eager to linger there. He should've checked out the house again, searched for hidden surprises, but the mood wasn't there. There was no desire to check in with anyone yet either. So, bundling up for the chill outside, Ev moved onto the street with his glass in one gloved hand. The weather was keeping a nice chill to his drink as Ev walked, eyes watchful for new details in the town around him.

It was a familiar enough picture to Stan, the houses covered with snow, the ploughed road. The only thing that was really unusual was the quietness of the streets. he was used to people driving anyway, because the snow wasn't going to go away any time soon. He walked slowly, trying to remember where he was going, trying to keep track of street names, figure out what related to where. But when he saw someone else headed towards him, he sped up a little, wanting to finally meet someone else who was here. "Hello!" he called out a greeting.

Chiding himself for apparently missing someone out and about despite his best intentions, Ev's head snapped around to look back in the direction of Stan's voice. He turned fully as he saw the man, noting the empty hands and wondering at his own suspicion. Had he been expecting an armed encounter? It was a bad sign, a hint at inner turmoil begging Everett for release. He needed to shed that before he found the woman Shane had mentioned, that was for sure. "Hey," Ev called back in a simple greeting, raising his glass for one of the last precious sips of scotch within and stopping his walk to wait for Stan.

Stan gave the guy a wave. "Hi," he said as he reached the black man. "I'm Stan - Robinson. New here, volunteer - really don't know what's going on. Talked to Kaori through the messaging system thing, couple of other people. Said something about an experiment, but you're the first person I've really met, so..." he said, really hoping the other guy would clue him in here. Face to face, not in text.
